out before they enter your selection system.
- Use pre-screen
behavioral interview plus data from AIM
Purpose: conduct a short screen to weed out blatantly unqualified
applicants; aid interviewers by providing
lists of "desirable" answers; measure the applicants' critical
attitudes, interests and motivations.
- Use validated tests, cases and simulations
Purpose: provide additional hiring accuracy (simulations measure
critical interpersonal skills, cases measure critical cognitive
abilities and tests measure special technical knowledge)
- Let managers use additional confirming behavioral interviews
Purpose: confirm all data and clarify unclear information using several
more people conducting in-depth behavioral interviews.
- Consolidate data
Purpose: hire the most qualified person for the job.
