This is an example of a selection system that uses several hiring tools. Its purpose is to assure maximum accuracy. Applicant time is about 3-4 hours.

  • Show applicants a preview of the job
    Purpose: reduce turnover by giving applicants a chance to self-select out before they enter your selection system.
  • Use pre-screen behavioral interview plus data from AIM test
    Purpose: conduct a short screen to weed out blatantly unqualified applicants; aid interviewers by providing lists of "desirable" answers; measure the applicants' critical attitudes, interests and motivations.
  • Use validated tests, cases and simulations
    Purpose: provide additional hiring accuracy (simulations measure critical interpersonal skills, cases measure critical cognitive abilities and tests measure special technical knowledge)
  • Let managers use additional confirming behavioral interviews
    Purpose: confirm all data and clarify unclear information using several more people conducting in-depth behavioral interviews.
  • Consolidate data
    Purpose: hire the most qualified person for the job.
